This is a limited offer to the Banda Sea, a sanctuary for hammerhead sharks. We'll aim to spot large groups of hammerheads in an unknown ocean that's surrounded by big islands. The cruise departs from and returns to Ambon, a treasure trove of macrolife. You'll enjoy pristine coral reefs and dive sites with impressive underwater topography such as dropoffs. Make sure you book early as this cruise is limited to October only!
The Banda Sea area begins at Ambon,a treasure trove of macrolife. On the day you board the ship, we'll set sail in the afternoon and conduct a check dive at a site around Ambon. The sea is home to a huge variety of colourful weedy scorpionfish which are very rare in Japan. During the check dive you'll also spot the mimic octopus and some rare crustaceans. We'll then sail to Suanggi Island, the northmost of the Banda Islands, at night. Pristine coral and soft coral spread out around the island, while you'll encounter shoals of snapper and fusiliers, and sharks and turtles that are a size bigger than usual. On the 3rd and 4th days, we'll aim to spot hammerheads by diving at a secret point unique to the Panunee ship, During the latter part of the cruise, we'll dive around Banda Neira, the capital of the Banda Islands. In the area is the island of Run, which is home to a wall of rock with colourful soft corals all over it. You can also observe mandarinfish laying eggs at sunset. With this cruise plan, you're certain to enjoy big species, shoals of fish, macrolife and underwater topography to the full. During the cruise you'll also have time to go ashore at Banda Neira.
